Dads and their sons recently spent the day with Liberty residents as part of La Salle High School's endeavor to foster community involvement in their students. It was great interaction for everyone as residents enjoyed the visit and Freshman bonded with their dads in a faith-related activity.

We appreciate that Hope Lutheran Church comes to visit us at least every other month. Pastor Kristie and her group keep the visits lively with music and worship. Residents enjoy the fellowship, piano playing and are encouraged to sing along.
La Salle High School, an all-male Catholic school here in Cincinnati, motivates their students to become involved in community service. To foster understanding and compassion for the elderly, students visit Liberty of Colerain each Wednesday and Thursday of the school year. Both residents and students benefit greatly from the partnership, enjoying board games, bowling and great conversations.
Being Cincinnati-based, it only stands to reason that we are huge Reds fans, so we try to frequently attend their games. Herman, one of residents, is a regular on these outings. He has fond memories of his family going to the games and he loves the sport. On Aug. 16th, our outing included the Reds Hall of Fame. Herman enjoyed learning more history about the team and some of its famous players. Our outing included a nice meal at Holy Grail and all of us, including Herman, are looking for to our September Reds outing— so stay tuned.
The staff at Liberty Nursing Center of Colerain works diligently to keep our facility humming smoothly— so part of out Staff Appreciation program includes a special team meal from time to time. This month, Staff Appreciation included a hearty breakfast bar. Kenyatta, a new STNA, clearly enjoyed jump starting her day. It was a wonderful buffet that included pancakes, sausage, eggs, bacon and smoothies. It's wonderful to be part of team that values everyone's efforts.
A big thanks to our Admissions Director, Stacey Hert, who recently arranged for TriHealth to visit our campus. In an effort to make early breast cancer detection available to more women, TriHealth now has a program called Women’s Services Van that provides mobile mammographies using advanced digital mammograpy technology. Here, Michelle from our Housekeeping staff is celebrating that she took advantage of the convenience and got screened.
Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, recently took time to visit us. The service was wonderful and residents loved their youth choir. We had a wonderful turnout and the morning was full of joy, along with plenty of singing and dancing. Residents enjoyed themselves so much, that they didn’t want members to leave, so we’re working on scheduling them for more visits very soon. We'd love for you to join us!
Thank you for the wonderful music Kevin Kelsey! Kevin is a retired Colerain fire fighter and policeman. In addition he’s also the grandson of one of our residents. He loves playing the guitar and performing, so he recently entertained us during dinner with delightful, relaxing music.
This month, our gentleman residents unanimously decided on cheese coney's from Cincinnati's Gold Star Chili. When you have a craving for one nothing else will do— and boy did they "hit the spot". We always have a good turn out for our monthly Stag Nights, but the idea of these amazing coneys drew out several new attendees. Good conversation and a few friendly rounds of Table Corn Hole topped off a wonderful evening for the men. We hope our newest members join us next month as well.
Several times throughout the baseball season we try to take in a few Cincinnati Reds games. This past Sunday we watched them play the Cleveland Indians and it was a fantastic day to be out. We enjoyed the company of Liz Isaacs, wife of Cincinnati's police chief, who joined her friend, resident Mrs. Ellie (foreground) for the game. The rivalry was serious because Mrs. Ellie is a Reds fan and Mrs. Isaacs loves the Indians who won, with a score of 11-1.
