In case you haven't noticed, we have two consecutive months with a Friday the 13th this year— February and March! So, staff and residents decided to have some fun with it by dressing in freaky, mismatched outfits. Everyone loves to get involved, and this month the Freaky Friday dress code is crazy hair and hats, so stay tuned.

Cabin fever has initiated some creative indoor activities and although its been cold outside, our residents are keeping warm with lots of giggles. We recently held a Bubble Blowing Contest and both staff and residents got involved. The Contest judged on the following criteria 1) who could blow the biggest bubble 2) who could blow or pop the most inverted bubbles 3) who could blow the tiniest bubble. All agree it was a hilarious contest. We're just thankful nobody left with gum in their hair or stuck to their teeth!
We hate to see Jeff Urban, our current Administrator, leave us. However, Jeff has not completely departed from our Liberty family, he's moving to our new Colerain facility in Cincinnati. So, we're very excited to welcome Karen Luther as Liberty of Mansfield's new Administrator, and we're looking forward to working with her.
We're excited and proud to announce that we have a new Activity Director, Candace Williams. She's actually been an employee here at Mansfield for four years, but this is a new position for her.
Residents along with family members enjoyed ringing in the new year with snacks and a delicious spread of sauerkraut and pork, wine and sparkling grape juice. They also welcomed a new Activity Director, Candace Williams, who promises that the new year will be full of adventures…not just Bingo! So stop in and see what's in store.
On Thursday, Dec. 11 we had the pleasure of a visit from students at Woodlawn and Prospect Elementary Schools.
We celebrated Thanksgiving this past Saturday with friends and family. The turnout was great for our Thanksgiving dinner. This was a good time for everyone who was able to share in the occasion with us. Thank you to the families for providing such a variety of delicious desserts to share. Hope to see you all again in a couple weeks for our Christmas party! Have a Happy Holiday!
Today residents enjoy making and eating a hearty beef chili. We had to use a couple of different ingredients than we were use too in chili like corn and salsa. Didn't matter, the chili turned out great and the residents really enjoyed it. Some came looking for seconds!
Trick-or-Treat night was a huge success thanks to all the staff and residents who helped out; and to all the children who came out to enjoy free candy. The residents had a wonderful time passing out candy and seeing all the different costumes that the children were wearing this year as they wondered our halls.
The sun was shining bright on this wonderful day. The tents were up and the tables were set. Families filled the seats. I think we may need to go a little bit bigger next year. Musical entertainment was provided this year by Matt Young. Jimmy T. Clown ventured throughout doing magic tricks and balloon art. The kitchen provided great food and the Activity department served it.
