On Saturday, April 12th 2014, we celebrated Easter. It turned out to be a beautiful day for it. We got the Easter bunny to show up early just for the kids. Children, residents, and even staff members were able to get their photos taken with the Easter bunny as he bounced his way around the facility. He even hid Easter eggs in three different spots for the children to search. He was really busy here. Some of the residents went out to watch while others done some searching.
On April 1st, AKA April Fool's Day, we played a little joke on some of our more entertaining residents. First we made up some Jell-O and put it in clear cups with a straw so it looked like drinks. We passed these "drinks" out and watched as the resident tried to drink the "Juice" we had given them.
Last week we celebrated February birthday's with the thought of warmer weather. We decorated the dining room with lots of Hawaiian décor and music.
The activity staff here at Liberty Nursing Center of Mansfield would like to let family members know that the time for our bi-monthly brunch has been changed. Instead of 10:30 –11:30 am, the new time is now 9:30-10:30 am from this point on. The old time setting created conflict with lunch setup. I hope that this will not be a problem for people. We hope to see everyone on March 15th. Family members are encouraged to join us and bring a side dish to share. Main dish and drinks will be provided.
Residents, family, and staff members enjoyed snacks, games, and music here at Liberty Nursing Center of Mansfield. Friday, February 14th, we celebrated Valentine’s Day together. Residents enjoyed cupcake, Valentine’s punch, chocolates, and cookies. We played a balloon popping game where residents had to pop the balloon. Then they had to do whatever was written on the piece of paper inside the balloon. We also had Valentine’s Bingo, had a Valentine's word search and a valentine's word scrambler.
